Eligibility Requirement

To get the license of a real estate salesperson in Virginia, an individual has to be at least 18 years of age or above and must be a legal resident of the US. The individual must be of a sound mind and should have not involved in any criminal activities and convicted in a felony.

The applicant has to show his complete background information if he/she has ever been involved in any “misdemeanor convictions involving moral turpitude, sexual offense, drug distribution or physical injury within five years of the date of the application”, according to the Real Estate Board, Department of Professional and Occupational Regulation, Virginia.

Educational and Examination Requirements

The applicant must have got a certificate of high school diploma or its equivalent. The applicant must have completed 60 hours courses approved by the board. The applicant has to pass the written examination provided by the board or the testing center approved by the real estate board. This examination must be cleared within 12 months prior to applying for the license.
